This is a tool designed as a vehicle cost calculator and transport cost calculator for easy cost analysis to determine operational expenses. It supports internal company accounting for transportation businesses and goods transport, providing solutions for logistics, freight transport, internal transport, passenger transport, and freight forwarding. The tool calculates car costs, truck costs, freight rates, freight prices, route costs, and operational costs for individual transport orders.

After entering the relevant data, the vehicle cost calculation provides the operational costs based on loaded and empty kilometer costs in EUR per kilometer and EUR per operating hour for route calculations, supporting both Full Truck Loads (FTL) and Less Than Truck Load (LTL).

Traditional approaches involving Excel spreadsheets, flat-rate day-based driver wages, or purely distance-based cost estimations for deriving freight rates and prices become obsolete. The cost accounting segment is known to be one of the most error-prone areas during the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) proficiency exam for freight transport certification. With the Value-based Routing Engine, time-based costs can now be explicitly included in the planning process, enabling a machine-based controller and cost calculator. No more flat-rate freight charges per kilometer; instead, costs are calculated explicitly based on specific routes, times, and dates in the future, with traffic-aware planning.

A significantly more advanced API-based version of upstream cost accounting for fleet route planning, using AI-approximated nonlinear cost functions based on over 250 factors for heterogeneous fleets, will be available soon. This version will read and segment process data directly from your ERP system. For this, we have adapted the complex cost accounting system of “relative individual costs,” developed by Prof. Paul Riebel in 1959 at the University of Frankfurt, and enhanced it with dynamic elements. For instance, loaded and empty kilometer costs can be considered at the freight unit level and with multidimensional bottleneck constraints for decision-making. In the API version, freight units can be mapped as cost objects, unlike the example here, where the vehicle serves as the cost object.
